Powder Inhalers

The drug is contained either in a single capsule, a disk cartridge containing several capsules or pre-packed in a compartment within the inhaler. As you breathe in, the powder is released into the lungs. Again it comes in a metered dose but coordination is not a factor. However, in the devices such as the Rotahaler, where the capsules have to be inserted one at a time, some people can find this fiddly. Examples of the powder inhalers are the Diskhaler, Rotahaler and Turbohaler.
